In about 12 days our family will start descending on Lincoln for Logan and Jenna's wedding. In two weeks we have a 5K that our class is running. Right now we're up to run for two minutes, walk for a minute.
We're not exactly breaking speed records. But the joy in being able to be very smug after "I've just gone for my run" is maybe worth the agony of the actual run. My running class has, actually, been fun. They rode bikes on "a real bike trail!" I think he didn't want the week to end, but he was very, very tired. They went up to Sioux Falls to see Loy's brother, Bruce, and family. He had a glorious time playing with the brothers. While we were Bahama-ing, Luke was staying with Grant and Angela and Paul. But now we're home again and I'm trying to get caught on up the laundry. Highlights of the week were snorkeling, seeing a stingray off our beach, biking with the girls, visiting Green Turtle Cay, and playing games. Our biggest decision? Whether we should lay on the beach or walk on the beach!!
The weather, mostly, was good, although hot. We stayed in a condo on the beach and it was a great, great, great week for us. When Lex heard we were going to the Bahamas, the locale they had picked for their honeymoon, her response was, "Tell me you're NOT going to Sandals!" I think she was genuinely worried we'd knock on her door during her honeymoon!! The following week Loy and I left for a week in the Bahamas with our dear old friends, the Eckloffs and the Allens. Alot of people that are very special to Alexis were there and the Jones' guests outlasted the Watley guests. Jones! Then we went to the Del Ray Ballroom for a dinner/dance reception. The weather cooperated beautifully and they left as Mr. They got married in Lincoln's Sunken Gardens with only immediate family present. I don't know as that's accurate, but it sure feels that way this summer!!
Is it just me, or is this summer just speeding by? One time, many, many years ago, a woman told me her theory that as it gets closer to the Lord returning time is speeding up.
